Company History
Steel Building Company Serving: Redmond, WA
In 1978, Roger’s son, Steve Benton, joined the Commercial Industries team, working his way from field support staff to project manager and finally to become President in 1994 when Roger retired. The experience Steve gained from his father has helped Commercial Industries continue the growth and customer service quality it maintains today.
In late 1983, the owners of Commercial Industries wanted to start a new steel building line to fill what they felt was a void in the marketplace. With a dealership background, they aimed to provide a superior steel building product line with fast, flexible service from the factory to its authorized dealers. As a result, the dealers of CBC would be able to provide their clients with outstanding service at a reasonable price. Thus, CBC Steel Buildings was started with a factory located in northern California.
Since 1984, CBC has gained a large market share by fulfilling its superior quality and service goals with competitive prices. CBC currently sells to over 200 factory-authorized dealers along the West Coast.
In 1997, CBC Steel Buildings was sold and is now a division of Nucor. Nucor has maintained the original CBC philosophy of superior quality and service with competitive prices while expanding the CBC product line. With the start of CBC, Commercial Industries became an authorized dealer—and maintains that dealership status today.
